			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>CUC’s Vice President Hu Zhengrong met with Kim Sunghae, President of Hansei University, Korea and its delegation April 13, 2007.</p>
<p>After introducing the university to each other, Hu and Kim exchanged ideas about cooperation between CUC and HU such as exchange programs of faculty and students. Hu said that international exchange and cooperation plays a significant role in CUC’s development and CUC is interested in the cooperation and exchange with Hansei University in relevant majors and fields.</p>
<p>After the meeting, Kim visited CUC’s live audio lab and visual audio studio. She talked with the students there and answered their questions.</p>
<p>Liu Liqun, Dean of International Communications College, Zhang Lili, Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Department(IECD) and Peng Jun, Deputy Director of IECD also attended the meeting.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>William Beinart, Rhodes Professor of Race Relations from University of Oxford, gave a lecture entitled “Political Revolution and Democratic Development in South Africa” at the conference hall of School of Animation, CUC, April 2, 2007. In his lecture, Bainart introduced briefly the political and economic situation in South Africa, and analyzed the background and the prospect of South Africa’s political development. Afterwards he answered students’ questions.</p>
<p>Beinart is from School of Interdisciplinary Area Studies, St Antony&#8217;s College, University of Oxford. He is chair of the University African Studies Centre, based at   St Antony&#8217;s College. He was invited to CUC to pay a two-week academic visit. About 40 graduate students joined his workshop seminar. And Professor Liu Liqun, Dean of School of International Communications, Professor Tian Zhihui, Vice Dean of Graduate School and Professor Liu Chang, Director of European Media Study Center, exchanged ideas with Beinart on topics such as academic exchange and collaboration.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Student delegation, from the college of art, Nihon University, came to CUC for student exchanges on March 6th to 19th. During that time, they attended the Chinese courses, Chinese cultural lectures and visited some historical sites, such as the Great Wall, Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven and the Forbidden City. Besides that, they watched the Beijing Opera, a traditional art performance, and had many activities with those students from Japanese Department of International Communication School of CUC, including Table Tennis Match, Kimono performance and Singing &#038; Dancing Party. All the activities made students learn further about the cultures and societies of both nations, and set a good foundation for the future cooperation.<br />
President Su, Honorary President Liu, Vice President Lv met the representative of Nihon University respectively.<br />
CUC has cooperated with Nihon University for more than 20 years. In 2006, both universities re-sign the MOU and agree to strengthen the training on the art talents.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>CUC and DW-AKADEMIE kicked off the co-run workshop on Online Journalism” at CUCon March 5, 2007.</p>
<p>CUC Vice-President Lu Rui attended and addressed the opening ceremony. In retrospect of the history of the cooperation between CUC and DW-AKADEMIE, he spoke highly of the form and the achievements of the collaboration between two parties. Also, he expressed his good wishes to the workshop and the workshop participants. Li Xiaohua, Dean of Graduate School, and Thorsten Karg, DW-AKADEMIE course director, also addressed the ceremony and extended best wishes to the workshop.</p>
<p>Tian Zhihui, Deputy Dean of Graduate School, Zhang Yanqiu, Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs Department, Cai Wenmei, Professor of TV and Journalism School, and Mathis Winkler, media trainer of DW- AKADEMIE also attended the ceremony.</p>
<p>“Workshop on Online Journalism”, the sixth cooperative training program held collaboratively by DW- AKADEMIE and CUC, will last about 2 weeks. Twelve outstanding graduate students selected by Graduate School will be attending this program.</p>
<p>CUC and DW- AKADEMIE have long-term and good cooperative relations and have substantial exchange programs in training, academy and visit. Since 2000, CUC and DW- AKADEMIE have successfully held 5 workshops, namely “Broadcasting Journalism and Current Affairs” in 2000, “Train the Trainer” in 2002, “Radio Management &#038; Marketing” in 2004, “Online Journalism” in 2005 and “News and Current Affairs Report” in 2006.</p>
<p>Founded in 1953, DW (Deutsche Welle) was Germany’s international radio station, TV station and online website. 1n 2004, DW- AKADEMIE, former DWFZ, was established to provide education and training services for the Third World counties and DW’s partners organizations in South and East Europe.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>From October 26 to October 28, the delegation from the University of Tampere led by Rector Krista Varantola visited Communication University of China.</p>
<p>On October 26, President Su Zhiwu and Honorary President Liu Jinan met with the delegation respectively. The two parties negotiated on CUC’s establishment of Finnish major with the help of University of Tampere and reached the consensus that University of Tampere will support CUC in terms of Finnish curriculum arrangement, the sharing of teaching resources and the exchange of teachers and students, etc. What’s more, the two parties exchanged their opinions on strengthening collaborations in other fields.  </p>
<p>The other delegates from Finland are: Senior Inspector from the Finnish Ministry of Education Sirkka-Leena Hörkkö, Adjunct Professor at the University of Tampere, Director of International Education Services at the University of Tampere Tenho Takalo, Adjunct Professor at the University of Tampere Iiris Ruoho, and Finnish language lecturer at the University of Tampere Sirkku Latomaa and attended the negotiation. Representatives attending the negotiation from CUC are: Xu Xuefeng, Director of University Planning and Development Committee, Liu Liqun, Dean of College of International Communications, Hong Li, Dean of English Department, Li Zhenhui，Deputy Director of Teaching Affairs Office, Bai Lanling, Director of Chinese Center for Foreigners, Zhang Lili, Director of Foreign Affairs Department and Zhang Yanqiu, Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs Department.</p>
<p>In the afternoon on October 27, Iiris Ruoho made a lecture entitled “Gender Roles in Media: How to Reflect upon Them?” at College of International Communications.</p>
<p>On October 28, Tenho Takalo and Sirkku Latomaa, visited Nanguang College and gave a speech on Finnish Higher Education System and the Studies at University of Tampere.</p>

On May 22, Vice-President Ding Junjie met with the delegation from Zee TeleFilm Company, the flagship of media and entertainment companies in India. In the meeting, Vice-President Ding first introduced to Chairman Subhash Chandra the history and recent developments of CUC and gave an outline of CUC’s future development. He pointed out that the focus of CUC’s international exchange and cooperation will be China’s neighboring countries such as India. In their talk, Chairman Subhash Chandra discussed China’s television system with Vice-President Ding.</p>
<p>After the meeting, Chairman Subhash Chandra made a speech about Indian culture and gave a brief introduction of Zee Telefilm to the faculty members and students from College of Information Engineering, Computer and Software Technologies and International Communications. He also answered the questions posed by the audience.</p>
<p>Che Qing, Director of Science and Research Department, Liu Jianbo, Director of College of Information Engineering, Lv Rui, Director of College of Computer and Software Technologies and Zhang Lili, Director of Foreign Affairs Department attended the meeting and the speech. </p>

<p>Professor Stuart Maclelland, expert in television program producing from New York City Univeristy Brooklyn College, was invited to give lectures in Communication University of China (CUC) from April 6 to 19 in 2006.<br />
Professor Stuart Maclelland gave lectures in Film &#038; Television Art School, Television &#038; Journalism School and Nanguang Campus of CUC. Those lectures covered 7 topics, namely Staging and Directing Drama, The Creative Process, Lights, Camera, Action, Lenses: Creative Aesthetics and Image Composition, Producing Live Events, Producing Performance and Integrated Media Art. Each lecture was highly praised by students.<br />
During Professor’s staying, Professor Liu, President of CUC, Prof. Ding, Deputy-director of Nanguang College gave a banquet for Prof. Stuart Maclelland separately, and gave positive praises for his teaching enthusiasm and the spirit of contribution.</p>
