Delegation from the University of Tampere Visited CUC

From October 26 to October 28, the delegation from the University of Tampere led by Rector Krista Varantola visited Communication University of China.

On October 26, President Su Zhiwu and Honorary President Liu Jinan met with the delegation respectively. The two parties negotiated on CUC’s establishment of Finnish major with the help of University of Tampere and reached the consensus that University of Tampere will support CUC in terms of Finnish curriculum arrangement, the sharing of teaching resources and the exchange of teachers and students, etc. What’s more, the two parties exchanged their opinions on strengthening collaborations in other fields.

The other delegates from Finland are: Senior Inspector from the Finnish Ministry of Education Sirkka-Leena Hörkkö, Adjunct Professor at the University of Tampere, Director of International Education Services at the University of Tampere Tenho Takalo, Adjunct Professor at the University of Tampere Iiris Ruoho, and Finnish language lecturer at the University of Tampere Sirkku Latomaa and attended the negotiation. Representatives attending the negotiation from CUC are: Xu Xuefeng, Director of University Planning and Development Committee, Liu Liqun, Dean of College of International Communications, Hong Li, Dean of English Department, Li Zhenhui,Deputy Director of Teaching Affairs Office, Bai Lanling, Director of Chinese Center for Foreigners, Zhang Lili, Director of Foreign Affairs Department and Zhang Yanqiu, Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs Department.

In the afternoon on October 27, Iiris Ruoho made a lecture entitled “Gender Roles in Media: How to Reflect upon Them?” at College of International Communications.

On October 28, Tenho Takalo and Sirkku Latomaa, visited Nanguang College and gave a speech on Finnish Higher Education System and the Studies at University of Tampere.
