CUC and DW kick off the Co-Run Workshop on Online Journalism

CUC and DW-AKADEMIE kicked off the co-run workshop on Online Journalism” at CUCon March 5, 2007.

CUC Vice-President Lu Rui attended and addressed the opening ceremony. In retrospect of the history of the cooperation between CUC and DW-AKADEMIE, he spoke highly of the form and the achievements of the collaboration between two parties. Also, he expressed his good wishes to the workshop and the workshop participants. Li Xiaohua, Dean of Graduate School, and Thorsten Karg, DW-AKADEMIE course director, also addressed the ceremony and extended best wishes to the workshop.

Tian Zhihui, Deputy Dean of Graduate School, Zhang Yanqiu, Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs Department, Cai Wenmei, Professor of TV and Journalism School, and Mathis Winkler, media trainer of DW- AKADEMIE also attended the ceremony.

“Workshop on Online Journalism”, the sixth cooperative training program held collaboratively by DW- AKADEMIE and CUC, will last about 2 weeks. Twelve outstanding graduate students selected by Graduate School will be attending this program.

CUC and DW- AKADEMIE have long-term and good cooperative relations and have substantial exchange programs in training, academy and visit. Since 2000, CUC and DW- AKADEMIE have successfully held 5 workshops, namely “Broadcasting Journalism and Current Affairs” in 2000, “Train the Trainer” in 2002, “Radio Management & Marketing” in 2004, “Online Journalism” in 2005 and “News and Current Affairs Report” in 2006.

Founded in 1953, DW (Deutsche Welle) was Germany’s international radio station, TV station and online website. 1n 2004, DW- AKADEMIE, former DWFZ, was established to provide education and training services for the Third World counties and DW’s partners organizations in South and East Europe.
